We are excited to share that Sambro has been awarded the 2023 MEN Business of the Year Award.
At the yearly event, leaders in the business industry throughout Greater Manchester assembled to honour the achievements of Manchester’s most thrilling companies. At Sambro, we proudly received the Business of the Year award!
It is this people-led approach which the award’s judges commended, especially Sambro’s approach to equal opportunity recruiting and investment in leadership development programmes, as well as achieving a median pay gap of -5.77%, well ahead of the national 7.9% average.
Other stand-out commitments include Sambro’s approach to sustainability, with the business appointing a dedicated ESG (Ethics & Sustainability) Manager to help it achieve 16 of the 17 ESG targets the business has set itself. This includes becoming one of the first toy companies of its size to calculate its carbon footprint and using 2019 as a base, Sambro has seen an overall reduction in emissions of 3.4%, including a 22% reduction in Scope 2 emissions.

Twelve of the team were in Manchester to witness it but it does, of course, belong to all 110 of our Sambros.
